Saturday, January 16th, 2016 - It was a very enjoyable trip over to Lincoln County today. Lincoln county was created in 1796 and is named after General Benjamin Lincoln (Not the Lincoln I thought it would be named after). The area is going through some changes right now with the old middle and high schools being torn down along with the Price-Legg Bridge (Built 1952) connecting Lincoln to Columbia counties. Most Georgians are familiar with Lincoln County's football program, which has won 14 state championships. What a lot of people might not know is that Lincoln County is home to the Lewis Family, America's First Family of Bluegrass Gospel Music (Organized in 1951). Pictures of all these areas and attractions are listed below.
Finally, I would like to thank a few of the local citizens of Lincolnton for being kind and helping me out today. I met a nice lady at the football stadium who pointed out that I needed to go see Price-Legg Bridge before it is torn down along with the Mays house and pavillion area. I would especially like to thank Brian B., who helped pull my car out of the mud after I stupidly tried to turn around in a field area.
